REAL TALK: PREGNANCY #2

9.08.2014
^^ My only bump picture of this pregnancy so far. 15 weeks ^^

Pregnancy is a beautiful and wonderful thing. I am beyond blessed to have experienced it once before, and currently experiencing it again. There are soo many things that I love about being pregnant- hearing the heartbeat, feeling each and every little kick, wiggle & punch, watching my hubby feel the babes move for the first time.

But let's get really real for a second. Pregnancy is NOT easy for me. And honestly I don't blame my body for reacting the way it does- because, I'm growing a HUMAN inside of me. Others are especially lucky and go through the whole 9 months like a breeze. Me on the other hand, not so lucky. :(

With Olive I had the worst "morning sickness" from pretty much day one. And it lasted for a llllloooonnnng time. Like 23-25 weeks long. I was super nauseous, no energy, sensitive to everything- smells, fabrics, the way my hubby HELD my hand!! I threw up more than someone should in a lifetime. There wasn't a day during those 23 weeks that I didn't throw up AT LEAST 3 or 4 times. My record: 15 times in one day. FIFTEEN!!! Once the morning sickness wore off I began to enjoy being pregnant a little bit more. Until the end- I began feeling extremely uncomfortable. I know, I know- that's how it usually is. But, I had Olive at 37 weeks due to low amniotic fluid, which I'm guessing is why I was so uncomfortable.

I had VERY high hopes that pregnancy #2 would be different, actually I hoped it would be the complete opposite! We found out I was pregnant and for at least 2 weeks I was feeling amazing ( which wasn't like my previous experience) so I was happy! But then things changed and overnight it was like my first pregnancy was happening all over again. Except I had a 1 year old to take care of. Long story short, round two has been rough! Luckily the throwing up stopped right around 14 weeks but holy cow I am still extremely nauseous! I feel like I need to constantly be snacking in order to feel somewhat OK. My energy level is at zero- overall I just feel like crap. Round 2 has been MUCH more difficult (in every way possible)!

One other thing I also struggled with in the beginning while pregnant with Olive was the weight gain. Although I knew 100% I needed to gain in order for Olive to grow and be healthy. This pregnancy I had goals to continue going to Ballet Blast at least once a week as long as I possibly could (hoping until I delivered) I have gone ONCE since I saw that little + sign. However, due to "morning sickness" I have not been able to even begin that goal.

I feel like there is so much negativity and judgmental thoughts & comments in this world nowadays- especially in the media. I've really been struggling because this time a round, I've gained all but 10 pounds of what I gained in the entire 37 weeks with Olive!! I don't feel pretty, my face is really chubby, none of my clothes fit (even my maternity clothes from before)- to make it simple. I'm really embarrassed to even go in public- let alone document this pregnancy (sorry baby girl).

I feel like I am just rambling on now. The whole point of this post was to express my feelings about my experiences being pregnant. pregnancy is NOT easy for this mama Eggett here. But don't get me wrong, I'm grateful and excited- it's just rough!
Crossing my fingers things start to get better and the next 23 weeks (or less) will go smoothly.

Thanks for reading!!

IT'S A GIRL!!

9.05.2014

This pregnancy was driving me crazy waiting and waiting to find out the gender.  so instead we decided to go to Fetal Fotos a few weeks ago and find out a little earlier what this little bean is growing inside of me!

Of course we didn't have a preference as to what the gender was, but Dave and I both were hoping for another girl!! Although my guess was that it was going to be a little boy, and dave was SO confident that it was a girl. apparently he's always right ;)

With Olive we didn't do any sort of fun announcement, so this time we decided to switch it up.  nothing too crazy but it was fun to watch olive with the balloons!!

We can't wait for little baby girl to get here!!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

8.25.2014
I kind of jinxed myself with my last post, but once i posted life just caught up with us and i've been too busy (or should i say, too sick) to even think about my blog.  but there is a really good reason for not posting lately!

The reason why my blog has been on the back burner is because........

Olive is going to be a BIG SISTER!!!!

We are expecting BABY #2, February 19, 2015!!

we are beyond excited to meet this little peanut!! as we all know, pregnancy isn't the easiest thing for me. once i start feeling better i'm sure i will be updating our little blog more often!

LIFE LATELY

6.06.2014
i've been on a roll with this whole blogging thing! it's because it's S U M M E R and we actually do things with our lives. ha!

olive gets super restless if she's been inside for too long. we take lots of walks together.

we love summer!! i'm telling you dave, we need to live some place where it's constantly warm. life would be that much more amazing! ;)

olive got her very first tooth brush this past week. she wasn't too sure about it.

we love the sun & swimming!! i took olive to the rec center this week and she loved it. so much so she didn't want to hold my hand while she walked through the water and took a little dive. luckily i caught her before she went completely under water.

guys i need this swimming suit ^^^^ if anyone knows where i can purchase it, P L E A S E  contact me!! (brickyardbuffalo doesn't sell it anymore)

6.05.2014
So i recently entered olive into a contest, because really she is the cutest child alive.  I found one called The Cute Kid. You have all month to vote, and you can vote once a day! And it's super SUPER simple. really though.  so we would love you FOREVER if you guys could vote for her as the "Cutest" as much as you possibly can! Click HERE to vote!! Thanks a million!!

SPLASH PAD

6.04.2014
ever since getting married, i feel as if my social skills have gone out the window. add a baby and you really become awkward.  i love having a friend my same age, with a baby about the same age as olive! it makes life a lot more fun.  i love that we have a splash pad 7 minutes from our home! and when we move, it will literally be less than 2 minutes away! my friend ashlyn and i took our babies to the splash pad for the first time last week.  i was interested in how olive would react. she was a little hesitant the whole time and every once in a while would get brave and run through.  but other than that she would run up to them and stand right in front of the fountains.  beckham on the other hand, had no fear what so ever! he would crawl right into the fountains and sit there! so cute!!

OLIVE'S MICKEY MOUSE PARTY

6.03.2014
i was such a procrastinator in high school, and obviously i still am to this day. i had all my ideas planned out for Olive's first Mickey Mouse birthday party, but didn't actually start getting ready until the day before & the day of! i was really bummed that i didn't get any pictures of the decorations or of her guests! i barely had everything set up before (most) people started showing up! :( here are a few of the ones that i did happen to get!

obviously it was a mickey mouse theme... there were mickey mouse ears at each table to make taking pictures fun!

i made a mickey mouse "smash cake" for olive & mickey mouse and strawberry shortcake cupcakes for the guests! we had HOT DOGS as our main meal (hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog). along with strawberry lemonade, chips and salads!

olive wasn't too into opening her gifts herself.  all she wanted to do was play with the toys once momma opened them for her!

little girl was so tired and exhausted by the end of the night! but we are SO happy with how the party turned out over all and can't thank everyone enough for showing up and for providing her with SO many new toys and clothes! we love you all!!
