SNOW!!

11.05.2014
we had our first snow fall of the season this past weekend.  dave and i (along with some friends) decided to take a little sunday drive up the B.... but instead ended up at the very top. so much fun but very bumpy for mrs preggos over here... we even found the snow! AND went above the clouds!! (our favorite part)

HALLOWEEN 2014

11.01.2014
we had fun this year on halloween!! olive was a little bit more aware this year and was in h e a v e n with all the candy!! we went trick or treating to grandparents houses this year but next year i'm sure we'll be out on the town. olive wore a little skeleton outfit all day to keep us in the halloween mood, and by night time she was minnie mouse- her favorite! although she was definitely n o t a fan of the costume. my mom works the night shift, so we stopped by during the day with cousin river to show off costumes. olive had a cute little mousey nose this time but by her reaction i wasn't willing to deal with the tantrums of having it again later that night. by the time we got home we all zonked out. it was for sure a successful halloween this year!!

RUB A DUB DUB

i've been trying to figure out how to decorate the girls bathroom, searching pinterest i found a ton of cute ideas but one of them required a picture of your child during bath time.  so i figured i would add a few bubbles and snap a few pictures the other day. olive wasn't too sure about the bubbles at first, and then i started making silly faces at her and i got t h e b e s t pictures! the closer it gets to february the more i think about how it will no longer be just me and my little buddy, and i kind of get sad (but also excited to have t w o side kicks)! i love my time that i get to spend every day with olive. i can't believe how much my heart loves her!!

HALF WAY MARK + 16 Months

10.14.2014
i don't know how sixteen months has already gone by, it feels like just yesterday that olive bug was born.  we love this little girl and all the joy that she brings into our home.  she amazes me every single day.  i love watching her learn and grow.

+ olive is SO talkative. she is constantly just jibber jabbing.  she can say; daddy, mommy, doggie, hi, daisy, nayyy (for horsey), and has the puppy whimper down to a T!

+ at her 15 month check up she finally weighed 20 pounds! she's 31.75 inches long!! such a tall skinny girl!

+ we turned her crib into a big girl bed and she is doing great at night!

+ she loves playing outside, long boarding with daddy, going to the park, playing with her stuffed animal puppies, and has quite the imagination forming!

^^ 20.5 weeks pregnant ^^

how far along? 21 weeks & 5 days. YAY! Time is finally starting to pick up it feels like.

gender? another GIRL!!

belly button? it's like half innie half outtie.... at the end of the day when i feel like i'm going to explode, my belly button is pretty much an outtie! :) so funny!

rings? still on!

stretch marks? i got a few on my lovely love handles from olive's pregnancy that started to fade away after i had her, but they have been showing up a lot more lately!

maternity clothes? when i'm not wearing sweats or dave's clothes, i most definitely wear a pair of maternity jeans.  they are life savors!

movement? this little girl is very active.  dave finally felt her kick for the first time last week! movement is definitely my favorite part about pregnancy!!

weight gain? this is a sensitive question for me since i've had such a hard time with it this time around, but yes- i've gained A LOT so far!

cravings? cafe rio. i decided to just get the pork & dressing recipe and make the salad myself so i didn't have to spend so much money every time i had a craving!

REAL TALK: PREGNANCY #2

9.08.2014
^^ My only bump picture of this pregnancy so far. 15 weeks ^^

Pregnancy is a beautiful and wonderful thing. I am beyond blessed to have experienced it once before, and currently experiencing it again. There are soo many things that I love about being pregnant- hearing the heartbeat, feeling each and every little kick, wiggle & punch, watching my hubby feel the babes move for the first time.

But let's get really real for a second. Pregnancy is NOT easy for me. And honestly I don't blame my body for reacting the way it does- because, I'm growing a HUMAN inside of me. Others are especially lucky and go through the whole 9 months like a breeze. Me on the other hand, not so lucky. :(

With Olive I had the worst "morning sickness" from pretty much day one. And it lasted for a llllloooonnnng time. Like 23-25 weeks long. I was super nauseous, no energy, sensitive to everything- smells, fabrics, the way my hubby HELD my hand!! I threw up more than someone should in a lifetime. There wasn't a day during those 23 weeks that I didn't throw up AT LEAST 3 or 4 times. My record: 15 times in one day. FIFTEEN!!! Once the morning sickness wore off I began to enjoy being pregnant a little bit more. Until the end- I began feeling extremely uncomfortable. I know, I know- that's how it usually is. But, I had Olive at 37 weeks due to low amniotic fluid, which I'm guessing is why I was so uncomfortable.

I had VERY high hopes that pregnancy #2 would be different, actually I hoped it would be the complete opposite! We found out I was pregnant and for at least 2 weeks I was feeling amazing ( which wasn't like my previous experience) so I was happy! But then things changed and overnight it was like my first pregnancy was happening all over again. Except I had a 1 year old to take care of. Long story short, round two has been rough! Luckily the throwing up stopped right around 14 weeks but holy cow I am still extremely nauseous! I feel like I need to constantly be snacking in order to feel somewhat OK. My energy level is at zero- overall I just feel like crap. Round 2 has been MUCH more difficult (in every way possible)!

One other thing I also struggled with in the beginning while pregnant with Olive was the weight gain. Although I knew 100% I needed to gain in order for Olive to grow and be healthy. This pregnancy I had goals to continue going to Ballet Blast at least once a week as long as I possibly could (hoping until I delivered) I have gone ONCE since I saw that little + sign. However, due to "morning sickness" I have not been able to even begin that goal.

I feel like there is so much negativity and judgmental thoughts & comments in this world nowadays- especially in the media. I've really been struggling because this time a round, I've gained all but 10 pounds of what I gained in the entire 37 weeks with Olive!! I don't feel pretty, my face is really chubby, none of my clothes fit (even my maternity clothes from before)- to make it simple. I'm really embarrassed to even go in public- let alone document this pregnancy (sorry baby girl).

I feel like I am just rambling on now. The whole point of this post was to express my feelings about my experiences being pregnant. pregnancy is NOT easy for this mama Eggett here. But don't get me wrong, I'm grateful and excited- it's just rough!
Crossing my fingers things start to get better and the next 23 weeks (or less) will go smoothly.

Thanks for reading!!

IT'S A GIRL!!

9.05.2014

This pregnancy was driving me crazy waiting and waiting to find out the gender.  so instead we decided to go to Fetal Fotos a few weeks ago and find out a little earlier what this little bean is growing inside of me!

Of course we didn't have a preference as to what the gender was, but Dave and I both were hoping for another girl!! Although my guess was that it was going to be a little boy, and dave was SO confident that it was a girl. apparently he's always right ;)

With Olive we didn't do any sort of fun announcement, so this time we decided to switch it up.  nothing too crazy but it was fun to watch olive with the balloons!!

We can't wait for little baby girl to get here!!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

8.25.2014
I kind of jinxed myself with my last post, but once i posted life just caught up with us and i've been too busy (or should i say, too sick) to even think about my blog.  but there is a really good reason for not posting lately!

The reason why my blog has been on the back burner is because........

Olive is going to be a BIG SISTER!!!!

We are expecting BABY #2, February 19, 2015!!

we are beyond excited to meet this little peanut!! as we all know, pregnancy isn't the easiest thing for me. once i start feeling better i'm sure i will be updating our little blog more often!

LIFE LATELY

6.06.2014
i've been on a roll with this whole blogging thing! it's because it's S U M M E R and we actually do things with our lives. ha!

olive gets super restless if she's been inside for too long. we take lots of walks together.

we love summer!! i'm telling you dave, we need to live some place where it's constantly warm. life would be that much more amazing! ;)

olive got her very first tooth brush this past week. she wasn't too sure about it.

we love the sun & swimming!! i took olive to the rec center this week and she loved it. so much so she didn't want to hold my hand while she walked through the water and took a little dive. luckily i caught her before she went completely under water.

guys i need this swimming suit ^^^^ if anyone knows where i can purchase it, P L E A S E  contact me!! (brickyardbuffalo doesn't sell it anymore)

VOTE FOR OLIVE

6.05.2014
So i recently entered olive into a contest, because really she is the cutest child alive.  I found one called The Cute Kid. You have all month to vote, and you can vote once a day! And it's super SUPER simple. really though.  so we would love you FOREVER if you guys could vote for her as the "Cutest" as much as you possibly can! Click HERE to vote!! Thanks a million!!

SPLASH PAD

6.04.2014
ever since getting married, i feel as if my social skills have gone out the window. add a baby and you really become awkward.  i love having a friend my same age, with a baby about the same age as olive! it makes life a lot more fun.  i love that we have a splash pad 7 minutes from our home! and when we move, it will literally be less than 2 minutes away! my friend ashlyn and i took our babies to the splash pad for the first time last week.  i was interested in how olive would react. she was a little hesitant the whole time and every once in a while would get brave and run through.  but other than that she would run up to them and stand right in front of the fountains.  beckham on the other hand, had no fear what so ever! he would crawl right into the fountains and sit there! so cute!!

OLIVE'S MICKEY MOUSE PARTY

6.03.2014
i was such a procrastinator in high school, and obviously i still am to this day. i had all my ideas planned out for Olive's first Mickey Mouse birthday party, but didn't actually start getting ready until the day before & the day of! i was really bummed that i didn't get any pictures of the decorations or of her guests! i barely had everything set up before (most) people started showing up! :( here are a few of the ones that i did happen to get!

obviously it was a mickey mouse theme... there were mickey mouse ears at each table to make taking pictures fun!

i made a mickey mouse "smash cake" for olive & mickey mouse and strawberry shortcake cupcakes for the guests! we had HOT DOGS as our main meal (hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog). along with strawberry lemonade, chips and salads!

olive wasn't too into opening her gifts herself.  all she wanted to do was play with the toys once momma opened them for her!

little girl was so tired and exhausted by the end of the night! but we are SO happy with how the party turned out over all and can't thank everyone enough for showing up and for providing her with SO many new toys and clothes! we love you all!!

OLIVE'S FIRST BIRTHDAY

5.31.2014
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY to our little Olive bug!! Her actual birthday was on thursday, may 29th! it's been a year since she was born, really?! yesterday was a happy & emotional day for me! i was in denial the whole day, that my little baby was ONE YEARS OLD!! When i tucked her in bed at the end of the day i felt an emotion of sadness. if i could, i would freeze time forever! these little ones grow up so quickly. in a blink of an eye she'll be graduated and moving out. please stay little forever!!

when olive first woke up on 5-29-2014, dave went in and got her. singing "Happy Birthday" while doing it! we did our little morning routine and then went to open presents in the living room! when we went birthday shopping for Olive we let her pick out what she wanted (besides the big slide) and then we wrapped them up for her to open.

once we finished presents, i made french toast for breakfast and added some sprinkles for the birthday girl. daddy had to head off to work and grandma moultrie came to pick up olive to go birthday shopping and to lunch! a little bit later, olive and i picked up dave and we headed to The Hogle Zoo for the afternoon.  Olive was so funny. she loved pointing at all the animals and wanted nothing to do with the stroller. and mommy.  she either walked holding dave's hand or had to be held by dave!

it was so much fun to see all of the animals.  we went last summer, and felt like there wasn't much to see because of all the construction going on. a lot of the animals came right up to the glass, which was so cool!!

after the zoo we headed to have a celebratory dinner at 5:10pm (the time little miss olive was born) afterwards we headed home and started our bed time routine.

i still can't believe olive is one!!! we love this little munchkin more than life and are SO glad she chose us to be her parents! life would not be the same without her!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVE!!

Twelve Month Update:

olive weighs 18 pound 17 ounces, in the 30th percentile. 28.5 inches long, in the 80th percentile.  her head is 18.2 inches, in the 80th percentile.

olive has been walking for a little over a month now!! WAHOO! we love the walking stage SO much more!! it's the absolute best!

olive is still not a great sleeper, but by now we are just used to it.  it's whatevs!

she loves strawberry shortcake and anything to do with mickey mouse.  she loves playing her her soccer ball... just any ball really.  she loves to just wonder and check out new things.  olive loves dogs and other people, especially little kids! she is definitely not shy one bit!!! she loves being outside.  olive loves bath time and playing with her bath toys.

olive has 4 teeth and is currently cutting 4 more! :(

she loves italian food.... pizza, ravioli, spaghetti.  she loves the veggie straws from costco.  her favorite sippy cups are the ones with straws.  she wants nothing to do with baby food anymore, and we have switched to the whole milk (which is not her favorite, but she will drink it if she's hungry enough)

i love watching olive learn and grow every single day!! she is our little princess!
