baby update

5.22.2013
i had my 36 week doctor appointment this morning... at 9:00 AM. i'm not really a fan of the morning appointments, because holy smokes there are some dumb drivers on the road. :/ i was the very first patient of the day so i thought i would be just in and out.... but i was very wrong.  my doctor checked her heart rate, which sounds great! i also had the group b strep test done as well as get an ultra sound to see the position of this little babe.
the whole time she was squirting that cold, cold gel on my tummy i was praying that baby egg was NOT breech. but gueessss what? this baby girl likes to be a stinker,  she's breech. so then my doctor starts explaining that at week 37 if the baby is breech they can try and turn her from the outside.  but they won't do it before because it can cause stress to the baby and put you into labor early. secretly i was thinking, heck yes!! i'd love to meet this babe sooner rather than later. {although i want her to cook in there as long as she needs to!}
and THEN! just as i thought we'd be wrapping this fast appointment up she then told me that she was worried about the amniotic fluid level.  apparently i measured a little lower than she expected by this point and on the ultra sound it looked low. she told me that i needed to go next door to get some tests done to find out exactly how low.  she also explained that since the fluid is low, it may be too hard for baby to turn on her own AND they won't turn her for me when they are concerned about the fluid. which would result in a c-section.
great.
a c-section was not in my plans.  yes, i am willing to do whatever it takes to get my baby here safely when the time comes.  but i was really hoping that a c-section was not in the plans.
anyways....
got my tests done.  she looks great. the fluid is at 11.2 {cm?} anything above a 10 is normal. but she explained that i am still on the really low side of normal. we'll check the levels again next week and go from there!
so lots and lots of resting for me this week!!!

better late than never!

5.21.2013
so i put together a video of all the photo's from dave and i's first year of being married... i know it's a month late... but its better late than never, right?
i love you dave!!

tuesday ramblings.

+ this e-card had me laughing when i came across it on pinterest last night.  don't worry baby egg.... i hardly ever drop my phone so i think you'll be okay!! ;)

+ i would love this swimsuit from j crew but can't justify buying it with a price like that.... i can dream because dang, it's cute!

+ i found this article from pinterest as i was scrolling through my baby board. any father that is expecting a daughter or even has a daughter should read this.  kinda made me tear up. i can't wait to see my man hold our baby girl for the first time.

+ speaking of the baby.  i am officially 36 weeks today. 4 weeks left. and 28 days until little baby egg is here. could be sooner... could be later, right? i've been experiencing a lot of those braxton hicks contractions the last couple days. boy aren't those fun?!

+ dave and i are moving out of our first apartment we've had together in less than 10 days!!!! that means the packing must begin. lovely.

+ and, um hellllllo! how cute are these??? we just actually need some folding chairs in order to accomplish this project.

+ i love my husband more than life itself.

happy tuesday!!!

home cooked meal... again!?

5.20.2013
 i was amazing last week when it came to making dinner.... 3 nights in a row! that's preeetttty impressive for me.  we usually eat out or try and find whatever is in the fridge or pantry. now we have a fridge full of left overs, especially after leaving dinner at my mom's last night!

my little sister and i decided that we're going to get together once a week and make dinner together {as married couples}. on thursday, we made home made taco salads... and yes the taco bowl was {somewhat} homemade. my mom and i saw on studio 5 that you can make taco bowls from home by covering a bowl with a tortilla and baking it at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.  well... on thursday, while i was getting things ready i found these taco bowl makers in our cabinet that my mother gave us for christmas..... even better than studio 5's idea!!! you can find them, here.

i think our taco salads turned out pretty good if i do say so myself.

dave's vs. mine {he said his looked better;)}

easiest chicken enchiladas

5.16.2013

when i was growing up, it always felt like my mom's chicken enchilada's took fooorrrrevvvveerrr. but then again, now that i'm married.. i've realized that most everything my mom made for dinner never really took as long as i thought it did. a friend of mine gave me this super easy chicken enchilada recipe, and when i say easy i really mean it.  i love it because it doesn't have a million ingredients. check it out..

ingredients//
chicken breast {i used 2}
sour cream
enchilada sauce
tortillas
cheese
++any extra side ingredients you'd like.. we added jalapeno's.

directions//
+set oven to 375 degrees.
+cook chicken until done, dice chicken.
+in a mixing bowl, add enchilada sauce {i like the red enchilada sauce and dave prefers the green chile enchilada sauce} then add two spoonfuls of sour cream. if you like sour cream add more! :) add a handful of cheese. stir together.
+put ingredients into tortilla, roll up and place in pan. {don't forget the chicken!}
+pour remaining enchilada sauce over tortillas.
+cook for 20 minutes.
+sprinkle cheese on top and cook for 10 more minutes.
+viola! you're done!!

35 weeks...

5.14.2013

today marks week 35 on my pregnancy countdown, which means only {about} 5 weeks left and 35 days to go!! we are getting pretty anxious around here.... especially me! i just can't wait to meet this little baby girl.  i wonder every single day what she will look like.  will she have tons of hair or none at all? will she be blonde like her mama or dark hair like her daddy? will she come early? or will she make me suffer and come a week late? i wonder how long this little munchkin will be and how much she will weigh. will she have mom's nose or dad's? ahhhh. i just want to know!!  at week thirty five baby is.....
the size of a large cantaloupe {approximately 19 to 22 inches long and about 5.5 pounds}
she has the hiccups more than i can count a day.
loveeeees the right side of my belly & cuddling up into those ribs of mine.
she moves around a ton!!!
my emotions are running wild.  once i start crying it's hard for me to stop. it's quite hilarious!!!
i pee a lot.
sleeping is a nightmare.
and she loveeees going swimming. ;)

we're going to be having a contest with family and friends.... feel free to join in! take a guess.. day, time, weight & height of baby egg.  {due date is june 18}

5.13.2013

the sisters and i enjoyed a little sun today at the pool... and maybe it was too much sun because we all got fried.  i was craving some watermelon so rach and i ran to THREE different stores. nobody carried watermelon for some odd reason..? it hit 91 degrees today!!!!

mothers day.

5.12.2013

my amazing hubster and soon-to-be dad to our daughter {eeeeeee} made me a delicious mother's day breakfast this morning.  first thing he said to me this morning as he was waking up was, "happy mother's day" i am one lucky girl.

we are both so thankful for the two mothers we have in our lives.  they have taught us both so much and we definitely wouldn't be who we are today without these two women. they are always there when we need them most. they really are amazing women and we love both of them.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

dave's 28th birthday

man! where have we been the last little while?! life has been so busy... we celebrated dave's 28th birthday this past week by spending a few days up at snowbird resort with a few friends. some close friends of ours have a week long time share up at the lodge. we spent a lot of time swimming in their amazing heated pool, taking walks, relaxing and eating lots of yummy food. and cake! dave wanted "better than sex" cake for his birthday this year.  it was my first time making it and holy moly it was amaze balls! i hope you had an amazing birthday this year love!!!
