olive turns THREE months....

8.29.2013

....this cute babe of ours is three months old today.  i cannot believe that she is three months. she is our little bundle of joy. i really can't stand her cuteness!! as i was feeding her at two in the a.m. this morning i was overwhelmed with joy, being a mother truly is the greatest gift i have ever been given. yes, even in the middle of the night. i would do anything for this girl. anything.

at three months, i'm guess-timating that olive weighs about 9... maybe 10 pounds. she still fits in size newborn clothes and prolly will at least another month, maybe longer. she loves to cuddle during nap time, which is a-ok with me if i have nothing to do.  she almost has a little laugh, she tries so hard. bless her heart.  she is such a happy baby, she is so content all the time. unless she is hungry or tired. her favorite part of the day is in the mornings. she tells so many stories. and loves, loves, loves to just kick, kick, kick those legs. who knows where she's trying to go! the bouncer is her friend. she thinks she's so big and likes to stand up on your lap.  we've pretty much got a schedule down now. hallelujah. she only wakes up 1-2 times during the night compared to 3,4 sometimes 5 times. shoot me. olive loves the bath. loves it.  she just kicks and splashes. she can hold her head up pretty well now. and i think the only thing she really hates is getting dressed.

we are so lucky for such an amazing baby. we love her to death!

a little late on the new years resolution thing...

8.28.2013
when you still have six months left of your pregnancy when everyone else is making their new years resolutions you kinda feel left out.... especially when one of your main goals is to lose a bunch of weight.  prolly not the smartest thing to accomplish while preggers. now that my babe is almost three months old {really???} i really should start working on my new years resolutions.  i'm actually going to stick to it this time.  i'm determined.  i'm going to document my progress so i can see how far i've come, and will continue to do so.

+number one is to eat healthily.  no more fulfilling these crazy hormone cravings from pregnancy and nursing. nope. gotta stop. no more treats for this girl!  you know how i don't cook? that kind of makes this eating healthy thing kind of hard.  i can't just throw a bean & cheese burrito in the microwave anymore and call it good.  pinterest has been a good place to go to find nutritional and healthy meals.

+goal number two.  plan out each meal for the week.  need i say anymore? makes things a billion times easier. i found this cute meal planning sheet on pinterest, maybe it'll help me out.

+nuuummmberrr three. lose ALL of this baby weight and more. please and thank you.  i lost all but 9 pounds of my baby weight within the first 2 weeks of my babies life. thank you nursing! but also, shame on you for making me lose it all way too quick. for that, my milk dried up way too fast. :( waahh.

+#4.... exercise often. i have been going to a class called ballet blast for the past five weeks.  it's amazing guys.  anyone who wants a good work out needs to come.  it's held at quite a few locations, "like" them on facebook for all their information. i am currently working on an exercise schedule besides the BB class.

+fiiiiiivvvvveee. get my little booty off the couch and get ready for the day.  come on guys, having a baby is hard work.  the last thing on my mind is to get ready.  although, i've noticed the days that i do get ready, i have felt so much better and the day seems to go better.  my goal... 4 days out of the week.  or should i make it 5.  you gotta have a lazy day {or 2} now and then, no matter who you are.

now onto succeeding with my new years resolutions. wish me luck!

i can hardly stand her cuteness....

...i ask her every single day, multiple times a day, how she got so dang cute.  and all she does is smile and tell me stories. this little girl has my heart.
p.s. a big thank you to stephanie hammer for the new blog design! i'm in love with it!!

first time...

8.24.2013

olive is a huge fan of the bath tub now, which means she needed her first swimming experience before summer ended.  we had some friends in town from california, so dave took some time off from work and took our little babes swimmin.
the beginning of summer olive had a swim suit that actually fit her.  and oh my heavens. it was prolly the cutest thing i've ever seen. besides my baby of course! but she was three weeks old then and she is almost three months now. doesn't quite fit.
olive actually didn't mind the whole swimming pool thing. although she had no expression on her face so i couldn't really tell.
i'd say it was a success!?

busy.

8.14.2013

life has been so crazy busy lately.  i don't even know where to start.  our baby is growing every day and learning so much too!! she is such a strong baby girl for being so tiny still.  we think she is getting all chubby until we put her next to other babies her same age.  {little pip squeak} she is still not sleeping through the night, and to make that even harder i have lost my milk so we are all bottles around here. :( don't ask me how i feel about it, i may get emotional. she loves loves loves her bouncer, and TOYS too. she loves to smile at you, talk to you and tries to laugh.  she's a happy, happy baby in the mornings.  she loves her daddy and it's so fun to watch her look at him. oh!! last sunday baby olive was blessed... more on that later. olive is going to be THREE months old in two weeks!! dave and i just can't get enough of this little girl.  she is our world and we are quite obsessed.

dave's parent's put new carpet in the basement and we were finally able to move all of our stuff down and get settled in.  now it feels like we have a place of our own and we love it! so cozy.

i've still been going to ballet blast once a week. and it totally kicks my butt.  i love it though.  it's such a good work out and i feel so good about myself afterwards.  {something you kind of need after carrying a growing baby inside you for 9 months} but holy smokes... i'm always sore for the next 2-3 days after.

that's pretty much our life lately... baby and working.
