husbands cooking

1.23.2013

last night dave decided to do the cooking {because i don't actually make meals lately}.  we haven't really gone grocery shopping lately so we didn't have much, so dave just threw a few things together and popped it in the oven. hollllllyyyy cow. it seriously was amazing. i couldn't stop eating.  the carrots and potatoes were so soft and the chicken was awesome! plus!! it was super easy.

{ingredients}
chicken breasts
carrots
potatoes
italian seasoning packet
butter

dave threw the carrots and potatoes on the stove first to give them a little head start. put the veggies and chicken in a pan, along with a whole stick of butter and sprinkle the italian seasoning over the dish {we only used half of the packet}. i think dave added a little bit of salt and pepper. cover pan and bake at 400 degrees for one hour. enjoy!!

let the shopping begin......

1.19.2013

dave and i went shopping for baby O's first outfit.. or two or three. i have a feeling this little babe is going to have more clothes than her mommy!! and yes, we do have a name. but we don't want the whole world to know until she is born. p.s. aren't these leggings just adorable????

18 weeks + work out

how far along: 18 weeks and 5 days

what i'm looking forward to: the shopping to begin!!!

yesterday morning before dave took off for work, i was asking him what i should do that day. you know what he told me? to go to the rec center and go swimming... instead i took rach and we actually worked out. yes... i worked out! for the first time since we found out i was prego. and it actually felt great. we walked on the treadmill for 32 minutes {and talked the entire time}, used a few of the machines to work out our arms, legs and butt {3 sets of 10 each}. baby girl actually didn't mind it, i felt so good the rest of the day. boy, am i sore today!!!

it's a.....

1.16.2013
this little babe is a GIRL!!! and we couldn't be more excited! it seems like we have been waiting forrrrever to find out the sex. and the little stink took over an hour to reveal to us her lady parts. i think she wanted us to suffer. i had to empty my bladder 3 times, stand up and shake what my momma gave me, lay on my side {with the cold ultra sound gel sliding off my stomach} and sit and poke at her for 5+ minutes to try and get her to move. but she didn't budge.  dave is proud that she "kept those legs together". we can't wait for june to come!!

it's my favorite

1.14.2013

isn't this just the cutest song ever?? i'm obsessed.

okay, so one of my most favorite places to eat at is cafe zupa's.. i crave it all the time. even before i was preggo.  in fact, i went there for lunch today. a friend introduced me to zupa's a couple years ago. i order the same thing every time i go.  in fact, i love it so much i found the summer chicken salad recipe online and have made it many, many times.  i was so surprised at how similar it tastes to the real thing. i still have not found my favorite sandwich recipe but i plan on finding it someday. i decided to share the salad recipe, give it a try. i'm almost one hundred percent positive you'll love it. {unless you hate fruit salads}

zupa's copycat summer chicken salad
(1) head romaine lettuce
(1) head red leaf lettuce
(10) grapes
crasins
(5-6) sliced strawberries
1/4 cup crushed cashews
1 cup chopped cooked chicken

{dressing}
(5-6) strawberries
3/4 cup red wine vinegar
3/4 cup canola oil
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
*mix in blender
**add water if it's too strong

p.s. is it wednesday yet??? wednesday at 3:00 pm? i'm dying over here. i can't wait to find out the gender of this little baby.  while grocery shopping over the weekend, i made dave stop at the baby section with me just to look. {i'm not allowed to buy a single thing until we know (says husband)} pretty sure dave was a little freaked out at how excited i got over the little teeny tiny clothes. seriously though, i was dying. if only the little babes stayed that tiny just a little bit longer. or a lot longer. i'm probably going to go straight to the store after our doctors appointment on wednesday.

1.04.2013
my mind has been a bit preoccupied the past 4 months {and one week} and my blog posts may or may not be out of place.  i just couldn't help but post my bumpdate before welcoming in the new year. it's the fourth day of january and i am just sitting down to write up my 'new years resolutions'. you know, mine have always consisted of... lose weight, eat healthy, get into shape, find a boyfriend, blah blah blah. they would probably be the same for 2013 if it weren't for this little baby inside my belly. oh and my sexy husband {that is so much better than finding a stupid boyfriend} so my goals for this new year include:
1. grow & provide for a healthy baby
everyone wants a healthy child, this little babe is the only thing i think about and i only want the best for him/her.

 2. stay in shape

being pregnant and all, i am definitely trying to gain a healthy weight instead of lose weight for this little one but staying in shape is one of my goals for this year {especially once our babe is born}
3. learn something new
i attempted the whole college thing.. but it just wasn't for me.  but i do want to continue to learn something new every day.
4. study & live the gospel
in april dave and i will have been married ONE year... it would mean the world to me if we were able to be sealed in the temple this year.  our goal is to work towards an eternal family.
5. read a new book/try something new
if i can find a good book, i absolutely love to read.  my goal is to read a new book every month. so send on over your recommendations. and, last but not least,  i definitely want to try something out of my comfort zone this year.

17 weeks bumpdate

i still can't believe how fast this first part of the pregnancy has gone by. but then again, it also feels like its been forever. i've almost hit the half way mark, and believe me.. i will definitely celebrate.  the morning sickness has finally worn off. thank the heavens above!!!! now that i am starting to feel better, my goal is to document the pregnancy better. i am now 17 weeks and 4 days.  we find out the gender in 12 days.  we're not counting down or anything. ;)
any guesses on what this little baby is?????

{baby facts}
how far along: 17 weeks and 4 days
how big is baby: the size of an onion
maternity clothes? not yet... i think it'll be a few more weeks until that happens.  i still can't decide if i want to spend the money on maternity clothes. {all you moms out there.... what would you recommend??}
best moment of the week: possibly felt movement... i still can't tell if it's the baby or just gas bubbles
food cravings: a big fat steak
gender: we find out on january 16, 2013
what i'm looking forward to: finding out the gender of this little egg
what i miss:  feeling like a normal person
next appointment: january 16, 2013

see ya later twenty twelve

2012 was most definitely the best year of my life so far. but holy smokes, did it go by way too fast!? So much happened this past year.  dave and i are excited for what 2013 has in store for us.
{january} dave finally asked me to be his girlfriend, told me he was in love with me, and from there things just kept getting better and better.
{february} i celebrated my 21st birthday & our 2nd valentine's day together, dave's dad had another stroke, and we started looking at rings.
{march} we got engaged on march 5th, i got a new job as a nanny in the north salt lake area, and we started planning a wedding.
{april} we both worked a lot, had tons of bridal showers, and on april 28th we finally said 'i do'. best day of our lives so far.
{may} dave turned TWENTY-SEVEN, we lived with dave's parents for a few weeks & at my mom's house while we waited for our apartment to get done being built. {isn't he sexy???}
{june} moved into our first apartment together and spent lots of time with our families.
{july} spent our first 4th of july together, went to our first bees game, dave tinted... A LOT, i started my first tattoo removal treatment and we took our first camping trip together.
{august} we spent lots of time on our boat this summer, had lots of bridal showers {for rachel}, welcomed a new niece into the family and on august 24th rachel and zack sealed the deal. {sorry mom... two weddings within 4 months!}
{september} we were able to attend the brigham city temple open house, we spent a weekend away with friends at a cabin in heber, we had to sell our childhood home and say goodbye to our childhood puppy {r.i.p. missy}

{october}had family pictures taken with my mom and siblings, found out we have a baby coming in june 2013, attended halloween parties, celebrated our first date 3 years ago on october 31 and really started experiencing the whole pregnancy thing.

{november} i spent most of my time throwing up and laying in bed, dave has really been working hard with his company, we saw our little munchkin for the first time and we had our first thanksgiving together.
{december} we spent this whole month getting ready for the holidays, two nieces and one nephew got baptized this month, we celebrated our first christmas as a married couple and we celebrated the new year with lots of good friends.
